In information gathered from a Public Records Request to the town of Chapel Hill (ICLEI Member City), ICLEI has a new startegey

 

Push the accelerator to the floor on Biodiversity (population control) and sustainable development (Agenda 21).

This is pasted from an email from ICLEI to Mark Kleinschmidt Mayor of Chapel Hill:

“ICLEI Strategy 2010-2015 –We have got a new strategy!

Rapid action, radical solutions
 

ICLEI Members are doing fantastic work and are making a difference in sustainable development in their area. However…[in] the challenges of climate change, biodiversity loss and resource depletion, we do need to act jointly, we need to act fast and we need effective, scalable solutions.”

Why so fast? What’s the rush? Maybe it is because they know their “hiding in plain sight” gig is over.  It may be that ICLEI was anticipating the Executive Order signed by President Obama on the 18th that in essence gave Federal Agencies the green light to accelerate funding and or regulations that foster the three E’s of the sustainability agenda in the US:  Please share this post with as many people as you can. It is very important that North Carolina citizen’s, and citizen’s of other municipalities that have joined the UN via ICLEI, know the extent of communication their mayors, city councilman, and county commissioners are having with the United Nations front group ICLEI.

HAVE THE ELECTED OFFICIALS OF YOUR NORTH CAROLINA TOWN “JOINED” THE UNITED NATIONS WITHOUT YOUR KNOWLEDGE OR CONSENT?

If you live in Asheville, Carrboro, Cary, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Chatham County, Durham, Orange County, Raleigh, or Winston-Salem they have. Before you think I have gone off the deep end read on because as always, Gaspee will provide you with the documentation, and the links, and you can do your own research, make up your own mind, and take whatever action you believe is merited.

How have these towns “joined” the United Nations? The above mentioned cities in NC are several of 608 cities in the US that have joined ICLEI: Local Governments for Sustainability.

Sustainability does not sound so bad…right? Get used to hearing it in North Carolina, because it is the precept by which many of our freedoms are being slowly whittled away, locally, from the bottom up. And yes, for my local readers, sustainability IS attempting to gain a foothold in Cleveland County through the Cleveland County Economic Development Partnership.  Gaspee will cover it in greater detail after more research is done.

What is sustainability? That depends on who you ask. I would hope every American could agree that a $14 trillion deficit is not sustainable. However the definition of sustainability, and the strategy for achieving it by the United Nations, is the one that patriots need to be greatly concerned with. My belief is that sustainability measures being implemented by the UN locally (via ICLEI), represent a clear and present danger to the sovereignty of the US. Anytime you see the 3 E’s represented, you will be 1-3 “mouse clicks” away from sustainability initiatives as defined by the UN. Whether it is North Carolina State University’s  “E3″ (Economy,Energy, Environment) or Sustainable Raleigh, the three E’s are representing sustainability as defined by the UN.

 And The UN have grand plans indeed for “governing” the world through sustainability. In fact, I dare say there will not be one area of your life it will not affect.  By briefly navigating the above Wiki link you will see many of the primary areas the UN wants to govern via sustainability. They include:

World Population Control

Lowering Global Consumption of everything from food and water,  goods and services, energy, and wealth re-distribution in the name of social equity.

They want to abolish the concept of private property, and control how land can be used; as well as where, and in what manner, humans are allowed to live. 

And of coarse they want to control the educational process.  In its’ source sustainability publications the UN have as one of their major “planks”, education of our young people on the virtues of sustainability.

“The United Nations has recognised the central role of education, and have declared a decade of education for sustainable development, 2005–2014, which aims to “challenge us all to adopt new behaviours and practices to secure our future.”

In case you are already lost (which is what the globalists want more than anything) let me re-cap where we are thus far.

We have the concept of Sustainability that has its origins at least to the 1960′s. The concept was likely first introduced to the UN inadvertently by Aurelio Peccei (July 4, 1908- March 14, 1984) an Italian scholar and industrialist, best known as the founder and first president of the Club of Rome.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aurelio_Peccei  

Sustainability has since been adopted and implemented by the The United Nations on a global scale.

Within the UN there is the Division of Sustainable Development, or DSD, which has the Commission on Sustainable Development, CSD (which consequently has a Facebook page and an Admin for the FB Group from Raleigh, named Bill Bly. The CSD is responsible for the global implementation of sustainability set forth by the DSD. The plans they are executing are called Agenda 21, and The Johannesburg Plan of Implementation.

I would encorage you to read the full text of both of those UN published documents at the above links. They will make your head swim!

A UN press release, released three days before Christmas Day, documents the first official work of the UN in regards to sustainability in 1989.  

“On 22 December 1989, the United Nations General Assembly called for a global meeting that would devise strategies to halt and reverse the effects of environmental degradation “in the context of increased national and international efforts to promote sustainable and environmentally sound development in all countries.  Agenda 21, adopted by the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development on 14 June 1992, is the international community’s response to that request.”  http://www.un.org/jsummit/html/basic_info/agenda21.html

United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan commenting about the Johannesburg Summit stated,

“We invited the leaders of the world to come here and commit themselves to sustainable development, to protecting our planet, to maintaining the essential balance and to go back home and take action. It is on the ground that we will have to test how really successful we are.”

Annan went on to proclaim one of the best outcomes of the Johannesburg Summit as,

“Commitments were made in Johannesburg…not only by governments, but also by NGOs [Non-Governmental Organizations], intergovernmental organizations, and businesses who launched over 300 voluntary initiatives.”

Remember the designation NGO it is important.

Summit Secretary-General Nitin Desai stated, “Although the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation is only some 50 pages long, in many ways it is more targeted and more focused than Agenda 21.”

So what does any of that mean to us in North Carolina?

That is where ICLEI comes in.

And at this point I must give credit where it is due. I heard about Agenda 21 long ago from a patriot group in North Carolina, NC Freedom. I looked into it some, and quickly dismissed it because it is affiliated with the UN.  The US Constitution protects us from foreign entities like the UN.  But then I read a blog from Randy’s Right and Dr. Dan’s Freedom Forum, that spoke of NC cities joining ICLEI. It got my attention. The subsequent weeks of research I have done since then has made my blood run cold.  

According to official UN documents entitled “Substantive session of 1996, New York, 24 June-26 July 1996, Agenda item 10″ICLEI is categorized as an“accredited”  Non-Governmental Organization , NGO to the [United Nations] Commission on Sustainable Development.” 

“In preparation for the World Summit on Sustainable Development, all Major Groups, including Local Authorities, were called upon to fully engage in the UN Summit preparation process and to conduct parallel reviews of progress in implementing Agenda 21 and the Rio Conventions. Upon request from the UN Secretariat for the World Summit, ICLEI facilitated the local government preparatory process for the Summit.”

The key word there being LOCAL!

The United States Congress has thus far refused to ratify the Kyoto Protocol, which is an international agreement linked to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. The agreement legally binds its signatories to reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It is a “Top Down”  strategy for implementing Agenda 21. Thus far a “Top-Down” strategy continues to fail, no doubt because of the efforts of many patriots around our country who are too savvy for such an obvious frontal assault. One of the most notable is the work of Dr. Michael Coffman during the 1990s to show what the nation would look like if the “biodiversity” treaty, which is also a plank of Agenda 21, was ratified. On the day the Senate was supposed to ratify the treaty Dr. Coffman managed to get the following map on the floor of the Senate. As a result the Senate tabled the treaty and never ratified it.

The areas in red are areas humans will NOT be able to live or utilize natural resources.

The new threat, birthed at the Johannesburg Summit, is a “Bottom Up” strategy that we must stop immediately. The NGO coordinating this bottom up effort is ICLEI. The following NC cities or Counties are already dues paying members of the UN via ICLEI:  Asheville, Carrboro, Cary, Chapel Hill, Charlotte, Chatham County, Durham, Orange County, Raleigh, and Winston-Salem.

These above mentioned NC cities with the help of the UN backed and funded ICLEI, are well on their way to becoming more “sustainable” by making rules, laws, ordinances, public-private partnerships, Metropolitain Planning Organizations (MPO’s) etc, that are severely limiting the choices you have for how you would pursue life, liberty, and happiness, because many of them are “exempt” from the US Constitution. The US Constitution was designed to be a leash for the Government…not to private enterprise. If you have a public/private hybrid that owns your street, development, or water supply, does the constitution fully apply to how it can regulate those resources?

In addition to Agenda 21 ICLEI’s website lists several of the goals they are helping to advance. The “Programs” section of their website:  http://www.iclei.org/index.php?id=global-themes states:

“Our programs, and projects promote participatory, long-term, strategic planning process that address local sustainability while protecting global common goods. This approach links local action to internationally agreed-upon goals and targets such as:  “the Rio Conventions ,The UN Framework Convention on Climate Change, The UN Convention on Biological Diversity, The UN Convention to Combat Desertification, the Habitat Agenda, the Millennium Development Goals, the Johannesburg Plan of Implementation“,

None of which the US Congress have ratified!
