If you do not want bike paths in your community; YOU MUST BE PART OF THE “CAR CULTURE”

According to Tom Angotti New York City’s plan to launch the largest bikeshare program in the country will seek to rectify the

“long-neglected issues of transportation justice.”

Tom Angotti is Director of the Hunter College Center for Community Planning and Development (AKA Community Organizer) and co-editor of Progressive Planning Magazine (AKA Sustainable Development/Agenda 21) In his current article he states:

The broken system for making decisions about transportation in neighborhoods leads us to the issue of transportation justice… the problem with this system of neighborhood governance is that it could lead to the creation of a more sharply divided city, one for cyclists and pedestrians and another for the car culture.”

Maybe my confusion on why a state like NY can simultaneously launch the largest bikeshare program in the country, AND need ”Sweeping layoffs of government employees to prevent New York going bankrupt“, is just because I am still just a part of the dumb “car culture”.
