“In an 18-page document entitled: Towards Reforming the International Financial and Monetary Systems in the Context of a Global Public Authority, the Vatican called on Monday for the establishment of a “global public authority” and a “central world bank” to rule over financial institutions that have become outdated and often ineffective in dealing fairly with crises.

The document calls for the establishment of  “a supranational authority” with worldwide scope and  “universal jurisdiction” to guide economic policies and decisions.

Additionally, the Vatican’s document suggests “such an authority should start with the United Nations as its reference point but later become independent and be endowed with the power to see to it that developed countries were not allowed to wield “excessive power over the weaker countries.”

  1. One of my best friends is of the Catholic faith, but she has the same view on Agenda-21, etc. etc. that you and I have. Since I saw the first article about the Pope’s pronouncements (which are tantamount fo Agenda-21) show up on the Drudge Report a few days ago, I’ve felt so bad for my friend.

Over the past three years, I’ve been going to worship services at a local congregation of the Presbyterian USA church. But two things have finally stopped me from worshiping there. One — the Presbyterian USA’s vote to accept and ordain homosexual pastors (the first was ordained in Madison, Wisconsin a couple of weeks ago). And two — The local Presbyterian pastor preached a heavy sermon on social justice, then said a prayer about reforming Christ’s church.

So many Catholic churches and their pastor-priests are already pushing social justice and other Agenda-21 tenets. My friend’s parish hasn’t yet followed suit; I dread that day for her.
